In my opinion in this 21st century.. and as always a coin has two faces..
One - is that old people are tired and diseased and are not able to do work even there own domestic n daily life work and even need others to get there work done..
on the other hand some of the oldies are working (earning) and can help there children and next generation in there daily life...
But the former one are in majority then the latter one...
